PPS Community Services Society, a society of students of Progressive Public School including grade 4 to grade 11 students visited last Saturday 19, 2015 Alamgir welfare Trust International for an educational trip under the supervision of Mr. Ayaz Baig, Ms. Shamim Karim, Ms. Mahnoor Iqbal and Mr. Abdul Basit. In this educational trip student learnt endless variety of ways by asking questions to the trip coordinator, in which they could be a responsible citizen, how to help someone in the need of education, food etc.
Involving students in community service is a method of practical, hands-on learning that emphasizes action, reflection and real world engagement. Much more than just volunteerism, PPS supports students in the development of new skills and civic citizenship through combining community work and classroom learning. Another benefit of learning these new skills is that students are far more likely to remain engaged when they can see their participation is effecting change. This helps them to realize that they are able to make useful contributions to society through services and social actions.
